Trimpley Heavy Horse Show – Sunday 30th July 2017

This year mark’s the 14th anniversary of the Trimpley Heavy Horse Show and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new friends on Sunday 30th July 2017.  This year there will be plenty to see and do to keep you entertained.  There will be tractor and trailer rides, horse and cart rides, donkey rides, fun fair, trade stands, refreshments, car boot, dog show, art displays and of course the wonderful heavy horses.   The foals will be in the stables ready to meet you and there will be lots going on in the working field where you can stand and watch these beautiful creatures at work, as they used to do, ploughing and muck spreading.  So please come along and help support us in raising awareness of the Suffolk Punch Horse, which is rarer than the Chinese Panda.   All proceeds of the show are donated to several local charities.   Gates open 10.00 am – show finishes 4.00 pm Admission:  adults £5.00,  children £3.00 (children under 5 are free) OAP’s £4.00.   Car Boot £6.00 per car.  It makes a wonderful day out for both young and old.  Looking forward to seeing you in the summer. For general enquiries please call Mike on 07831 674018 / 01299 403812 for trade stands call Tracy 01905 773673 or 07531524280.

Hi, just wanted to say that we had a brilliant day today. My daughter loves the horses, she wanted one (told het to wait a couple of years, she’s only 2).My son loved the tractor and trailer ride. My partner and I enjoyed looking at the horses and other animals an the prices were not breaking the bank. Wich makes a nice chance. Thanks

This was a wonderful day out. The perfect summer’s day…! Warm (but not scorching), relaxed, happy – we never heard a child have a tantrum all day -and the chance to see beautiful animals in an idyllic setting. What more could anyone want?

I always really enjoy this event, and think what a splendid job Mike and Alison are doing of making sure their favourite breed of horse doesn’t become extinct. Imagine owning a herd of over 40 magnificent horses, all the same colour!

    Will the festival be rearranged?

    • Mike Clarke

We are not sure if it will be re-arranged at the moment. It will definitely take place next year but if we do find another slot this year we will post it here!

Hello, I’m very sorry it’s taken me so long, but I’ve finally written the promised article about Trimpley Heavy Horse Day for the Suffolk Punch Society magazine. I ought to show it to you first, if I could have an email address to send it to, please?

I see the system asks for my email address without making it public. That seems a good way to send it to me.

Oops, I think I should have left out my surname. One day I’ll explain why…. I see my comments are moderated – this one is not to be made public, please.
